The Governor is the chief executive of the state whose function is to administer the laws of the state. One of the activities used to accomplish this function is the signing of bills approved by the state legislature. This series consists of bound volumes created in the governor's office listing the House and Senate bills sent to the governor to be signed into law. Listed in each volume are the date and time each bill was received in the governor's office, when they were approved, and the date and time that the governor transferred them to the Secretary of State's office. The number of each bill and a short description are also included. These registers were created during the first administration of Governor James E. Folsom.
